2 Idiots…!!! AG and RA
On a Sunday Morning.. sitting in balcony, I watch through the neem tree… I see endless stretch of land with no one around… the only companion i had was the GTALK… i ran through the list of friends who were online.. i was lost in the Greens, Reds and the Oranges.. !!!
Something was bothering me.. A good friend of mine had left to the US for long.. Not sure when I would see him again…
It was in Bangalore, somewhere in 2004.. I met him in the office.. the Cat Eyed Guy from Bombay.. Tall guy.. with Marathi Ascent… the very next moment i said to myself.. .Aamci Maati Aamcha Manoos… (My Soil, My Friend). I had my early school days in Pune.. hence.. Marathi is also mine.. ! 🙂
My Journey in Bangalore too had started some where in Oct 2004. Had quit GE and had joined this company… ProcessMind…
As the wise man says.. Good Friends and Good Teams meet together for a smoke or drink… the best is together… it was a friday night at Filling Station.. Our favorite place.. Skanda, Tush, Aarti, Srini and Me.. already there.. and he joins.. !!
This continued for some time.. and our Marathi Manoos was one of the best buddies I had… We were the best PJ guys around.. and had loads of people crush under our PJ’s.. right from the Suhaagan Masaala at the Pan Shop.. or for some Bastard Oil at the local shop….!!! Though the Ras Jamoon was one of the favorite.. !!! I still remember the waiter from the Hotel gone mad when he saw we ordering a Tea and a Coke each..!!!! Which we sipped simaltaneously.. !!
AG broke his leg playing cricket one fine day.. a visit daily to his room to meet him ( Best place to have a round or two of my fav Rum along with some whisky for him).. !!! Shane & Gaurav his room mates were the best guys to have .. Thanks to the Dettol Deepa Mausi who stayed on 1st Floor.. Late Night Rummies, Badaam Saat and Poker was a daily time pass… !!!
Ranjita, the better half of Galgale was just a GF for him that time.. were all ready to tie the knot together and were on verge of convincing their parents.. Marriage was planned somewhere in mid of 2005.
December 2004 I was on a trip with Family and cousins to Vizag.. little did I knew.. that a Single R is going to bee soon a RA.. !!!! My cousin had hinted that “A” may be a right match… I laughed and ignored him.. On Feb 18, I sit right in front of “A” or “Aruna”.. it was a matrimonial match fixing going on.. !! and I was engaged.. !!!
On May 7th 2006, I got married and on Jun 10th 2006 Amit and Ranjita tied the knot.. !!! Galgale had to look out for a Flat for rent and I was to buy one.. The best option was to take one close to each others.. !! 402 and 405 of A Block Manjunatha Residency was ours..
From Bachelors to Married men.. we were travelling the same train.. Life was good.. and One Fine Morning we decided the life at office and home is routine and we had to find out new avenues and new horizons to reach.. He finally got his dream job at Mumbai and Joined TCS.. I was bored at Bangalore I moved towards Chennai….
As the boys depart they dont make crying scenes .. they Celebrate.. so it was a Farewell which we had to have.. Tush had flown from US and we had to decide the place.. where else it can be.. GOA.. a 3 Day tension free Farewell.. Beer, Beach and Boys..!!!
Life been busy hence after.. a phone call a day.. a chat a while was the story.. I had made a quick to Bombay and stayed a while there.. a week to be precise.. evenings in Bombay was fun specially when me and Galgale are together.. the beautiful Marine Drive or the best Juhu Chaupati with so many Bakras around PJing and Masti was always around…. Few Days after Galgale dropped in Chennai.. we had a drive to Tirupati .. where finally his wish was granted…
.. Here he goes flying tonight.. to the United States of America.. his long living dream…. Though a Chat away.. !! a Call Away.. typing this I hear in background… “Behti Hawa sa tha woh..Pyaar Hamara Tha Woh.. ” … Not sure about the 3 Idiots.. yes WE WERE THE 2 IDIOTS… !!!
